What a Full Day Vèla Wedding Actually Looks Like: Tricia and Jason at The Guild Inn Estate

Some venues stop you in your tracks. The Guild Inn Estate is one of them.

Tucked into the eastern edge of Scarborough Bluffs, The Guild Inn is unlike anywhere else in Toronto. Ancient Greek and Roman architectural fragments salvaged from demolished buildings across the city were reassembled here over decades, creating an outdoor sculpture garden that feels equal parts European countryside and Toronto history. When you get married here, you are standing inside something that has been carefully, intentionally preserved. That energy is real and you can feel it.

It is also, we should mention, an absolutely extraordinary backdrop for a wedding.

Tricia and Jason Are Getting Married in May

Tricia and Jason came to us with a clear vision: a full day celebration with the people they love most, built around great food, a gorgeous setting, and a design that felt genuinely them. Fifty guests. Seven hours. A sit-down three-course dinner. Cake and cupcakes. A ceremony in the open air and a reception tucked inside one of the most intimate rooms on the property.

We were in immediately.

The design

If you have been following Vèla for any length of time, you know we have a thing for our groovy wavy panel installations. Bold, sculptural, a little retro, completely unforgettable. For Tricia and Jason we are bringing them out in our favourite colourway: deep purple and bright orange, a combination that is joyful and unexpected and looks incredible against the stone and greenery of The Guild Inn grounds.

The panels will anchor the ceremony space on the terrace, framed by the estate's iconic columns and open sky. Lush floral arrangements, warm textures, and a colour palette that feels like a celebration before anyone has even said a word.

We also created a custom digital invitation for Tricia and Jason, designed to set the tone from the very first touchpoint. Because at Vèla, the experience starts long before the wedding day itself.

The ceremony

The terrace at The Guild Inn is one of those spaces that needs very little. The architecture does the work. Stone columns, sweeping archways, open sky, and the kind of quiet that makes everything feel significant. Tricia and Jason will say their words here, surrounded by their fifty closest people, with the gardens stretching out behind them.

The dinner

After the ceremony, the celebration moves inside to the Bickford House, one of the most intimate and beautifully proportioned spaces on the property. A three-course sit-down dinner for fifty, designed to feel like the best dinner party you have ever been to. The kind where nobody checks their phone and nobody wants the night to end.
